This is by no means extensive, but a few of the places we like to visit when staying at the cottage.
Chatsworth Park – historic house, gardens and parkland. Fantastic childrens’ farm and woodland play area. Also visit their extensive farm shop: www.chatsworth.org
Little Monkeys - childrens’ play centre at Darwin Forest Country Park (great when the weather isn’t so good): www.little-monkeys.co.uk
Carsington Water – watersports, walking, childrens’ play area and much more.
Bakewell – historic market town and the best place for a Bakewell Pudding.

Tissington Trail – former Ashbourne to Buxton railway line. Now a bridleway and walk/cycle path.
Matlock Bath – former spa town, attractions include Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham.

There are also extensive walking and cycling trails in the area.
